It was indeed a time of praise, a time of worship and a time of thanksgiving as friends and well-wishers came out at the Jesus Elam Revival Ministries in Barataria Trinidad to share in the celebration of I.S.A.A.C 98.1FM the promise.
The station originally established in 2002, celebrated its 6th year in broadcasting on Sunday August 31st the same year as Trinidad and Tobago celebrated its 46th anniversary as an independent nation.
The celebrations and praise Sunday evening also included sterling performances by gospel singers and radio presenters, Kern Tyson, Melissa Precious Brown and Michelle Modeste, as well as by Roxanne James, Steffie and Soriah Romero, Rev. Vernon Duncan, Rev. Peter Regis, and others.
2008 has so far been a year of challenges, as well as a year of achievements for the station, especially for the ministry, the Family Focus Broadcasting Network.
This is the view of the President and CEO of FBN, Margaret Elcock.
Mrs. Elcock says she felt elated and fulfilled by the achievement, and was very pleased to see the large number of persons who were attending the function.
According to the C.E.O. it was an awesome experience to have so many persons celebrating the event. Mrs. Elcock also said she is looking forward to many more years of similar accomplishments.
Also at the celebrations, Chairman of the Board of Directors at I.S.A.A.C 98.1FM the Promise, Dr. Asaf Pirali commended the station for their accomplishment of 6 years of powerful ministry.
Dr. Pirali also said the success of the station was due to a team effort, while Mrs. Elcock contributed the success of I.S.A.A.C 98.1FM to the foundation of prayer.
During her speech, Mrs. Elcock encouraged others to listen to the station, for it is different, and built by God for a purpose.
Another feature at the celebrations was the grand finals of the 98 Big 6 poetry competition.
Six people were chosen throughout the week on the Afternoon Evening Drive time radio program ‘The Distinguished Gentlemen’ and ‘Fabulous Friday’ programmes and were given the opportunity to voice a one minute poem on what 98.1FM meant to them.
In the end, Tacarigua resident, Kurt Graham was declared winner of the competition with Cheryl Ann Gajadhar coming in second, followed by Debra Cornwall placing third.
The celebrations continued into the next day as praises were sent forth throughout the heavens with an all night prayer session led by Cleveland Thomas and the Family Focus Intercessory Team.
