4th Annual FBN Club Banquet

ADDRESS OF THE CEO – ‘CELEBRATION BANQUET 2005’

“Good evening and welcome to this our fourth annual FBN Club Banquet.

I can’t believe that a whole year has passed since we last met. I would first like to recognize members of our Board of Directors and Advisors who are present here this evening. Good evening to all our specially invited guests, and to you our faithful partners and club members.

This past year has been quite an eventful and fulfilling one for us at FBN. God has been good to us, as we remain faithful to Him. We have been able to accomplish a number of our goals.

We continue to make prayer the foundation of this ministry and once again we began the year with prayer and fasting in the month of January. We then took the battle and the warefare to the city with ‘Praise on the Promenade an annual gathering of saints for praise and worship’; live on the Brian Lara Promenade, in the midst of the ‘Carnival Season’. Once again the response was tremendous as thousands converged on the Promenade, to join in the praise and celebration of God.

On June 14th this year, a historic moment took place, as FBN launched ISAAC 98.1FM in our Sister Isle Tobago. Several members of our Board attended this auspicious occasion, which was aired live on ISAAC 98.1 FM and heard in Tobago for the first time. A breakfast meeting was held at Mt Irvine Bay Hotel, with approximately 140 guests, comprising ministers from over 40 churches throughout the island of Tobago. Chief Secretary, of the Tobago House of Assembly, Mr. Orville London gave us a warm welcome expressing his delight in the anticipated role of ISAAC, participating in the spiritual development of the people of Tobago. Special mention must be made of Mr. Christopher Peru, Operations Manager at ISAAC, who was the driving force behind the success of the transmission in Tobago.

We have now included our Sister Isle in our programming, with our call in segments called “Tobago This Is Your Time”, and “Tobago Now” a magazine programme where we interview and highlight personalities who have impacted the Tobago communities. Our first program featured Apostle Turnel Joshua Nelson, a son of Tobago soil. We have other programmes to be produced and aired with special emphasis on Tobago, and an invitation for ministers from Tobago to air their programmes on ISAAC. The response to-date has been tremendous.

We are now broadcasting Good News, not just the good news of the Gospel but good news of what is happening locally and internationally. This 5-minute feature called ‘G-News’, an alternative to regular headline news is aired everyday at 11am. We bring to the forefront, news that is , positive, social, and current. Good news is produced by Karlon Lett and hosted by Avonelle Hector-Joseph.

We have talented production personnel who produce top class promotional announcements and commercials for the frequency, creating a professional sound with diverse programming.

Finally! We are pleased to present you with your FBN club-membership cards, which you can wear proudly. You are entitled to discounts on all FBN Club branded items available at ‘The Promise Bookstore’ located at ISAAC –98.1FM- 115a Woodford Street Newtown Port-of-Spain. We have also negotiated with several businesses in the country, where you can obtain discounts when you present your FBN Club card.”

We are growing from strength to strength, constantly improving our product, with announcers and staff who are committed and dedicated first to God, and to the Ministry.

Our latest accomplishment is our website which will be launched this evening. Presenting further information would be Mr. Daya Ottley who worked alongside Ms. Nakesha Greenidge to make this a reality.

We are very grateful to you our partners for you consistency, loyalty, and faithfulness. We could not have done it without you. Thank you so much for being a part of the vision. We love you!” -

Address by: the President & CEO Margaret Elcock, at The FBN Club Banquet 2005.
