“FRESH FIRE”
‘FreshFire’, birthed on June 10, 1995, is yet another brainchild of FBN’s President and Founder Margaret Elcock. FreshFire is the television arm of the Network and was the only Gospel Magazine programme in the english speaking Caribbean, which was aired for 21 hours per week.
Fresh Fire provides a forum for local and foreign Ministers to be featured on the local television media. Originally, foreign Ministers of the gospel such as Benny Hinn, Bishop T D Jakes, Bishop Eddy Long, Pastor Rod Parsley, Pastor John Hagee, and Dr Myles Munroe among others were featured regularly on mornings. Among the local Ministers participating were Pastor B.A. Hamid of Montrose New Testament Church of God, Dr. Levi Duncan of the Calvary Revival Center, Dr Steven Mohammed of the Balmain Worship Centre, Pastor Michael Lewis of Deliverance Temple, Dr. Winston Cuffie of Miracle Ministries, Pastor Allister Alexander Daybreak Assembly
After a few years in television production, Mrs. Elcock pioneered yet another arm of the Family Focus Television Ministry, “The Youth In Focus” Programme (YIF). Hosted my Mrs Elcock’s own daughter Marisa Elcock–Thongs, the team of young people were able to captivate the attention of the youth of the nation with there up to date, innovative programming, which positively impacted and changed the lives of many hurting young people in the nation.
For the children there was “Kids Vibe”, hosted by Fern Chase, who had a love and vision for kids. Under Fern’s leadership the children were taught to act, host, and participate on camera. They had numerous outdoor activities and participated in plays and drama.
Margaret Elcock also produced and hosted a morning programme targeted to women called ‘Fresh Fire Morning Mix. The dynamic team of co-hosts were Sis. Merle Ali, Rev. Angela Williams, Sis. Maureen Ramjattan and Sis. Madonna Sampson-Doyle. These women dealt with the topics that affected the lives of women on a day-to-day basis, they encouraged and uplifted viewers with ministry of the word and their personal experiences.
