JENNIFER RODERIQUE

Jenny Roderique is truly Trinbagonian! She was born in Moriah, Tobago where as a child, her interest in radio was peaked with the arrival in the family home of a Grundig radio. She credits her grandfather with feeding her fascination with radio as he would stay out of view and be the other voice as she “talked” to the radio! Jenny moved to Trinidad where she was educated at Bishop Anstey High School and at the University of the West Indies from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and English, and a Diploma in Education. She taught for many years at Tranquillity Government Secondary School and in 2002, she took early retirement, ending her teaching career, at St. Francois Girls’ College.

Within weeks of retiring, Jenny was invited to Isaac 98.1FM to team up with Nicole Larsen, her Partner in Christ, to host a programme for our senior population. That programme is the not-to-be-missed Saturday morning show, Forever Young. However, this was not Jenny’s introduction to radio broadcasting. In 1998, after successfully completing FBN /MAS-Comm’s first short course in Radio Production Skills, Jenny enjoyed a stint on Golden Years, a programme for seniors aired on Family Focus and hosted by Madonna Sampson and David Chase.

Jenny never envisaged that she would be involved in a ministry to seniors but is happy to be part of a Network that is playing a significant role in catering to their needs and encouraging them to live rich, meaningful lives.

Jenny also hosts Come Alive, the programme presented by her church, Agape Bible Ministries, every Thursday at 9:00 p.m., on Isaac 98.1 FM.
