ADRIAN ALEXANDER

Adrian Alexander hosts the Sunday afternoon programme known as "Simply Worship".

An Attorney-at-Law, Adrian was introduced to radio ministry in 1991 by his then pastor, Pastor Nelson Sammy-Guilarte of Living Word Christian Centre in San Fernando. Along with Pastor Sammy, Adrian co-hosted a radio programme, ‘On Eagle‘s Wings’, which aired from 1991 until 1992, 9:30 pm to 12:30 am every Saturday night on 730 AM Radio now Inspirational Radio.

Adrian began his relationship with FBN in 1993 when he joined the ministry as a Gospel DJ on "The Bright side of Midnight" (often referred to as "The Bright Side") - a programme hosted on 95.1 FM from 12 midnight on Sunday to 5:00 am Monday mornings.

Partnering with Patrick Mohammed, with whom he fellowshipped at Living Word Christian Centre, Adrian imported the seriousness of ministry he had learned from ‘On Eagle‘s Wings’ into what was primarily a music-focused ministry on "The Bright Side of Midnight". For Patrick and Adrian, The Bright Side and radio ministry in general were not designed for entertainment but for imparting the undiluted word of God to listeners throughout the nation.

Amidst a background of encouraging and soothing praise and worship music, he dealt with issues of marital infidelity, homosexuality, grief, parental neglect and other "real" issues facing believers and unbelievers alike. No session of The Bright Side was complete without their leading many souls to salvation and praying for the healing and deliverance of listeners.

Some memorable experiences for Adrian as a member of The Bright Side were the opportunities he had to work during Carnival Sunday nights. After leaving the station, he and Patrick Mohammed walked through Port of Spain wearing their Christian T-shirts in the midst of the J’Ouvert crowds bearing witness of the saving power of Jesus Christ.

It was from Patrick Mohammed that Adrian learned how to man the operator‘s console in the studio and to mix music - a skill he had to call upon when Patrick Mohammed migrated to the United States of America. From that time until The Bright Side came to an end in 1998, Adrian shared the five (5) hour time slot with Marisa Elcock (now Marisa Elcock-Thongs).

In September 2002, after the launch of ISAAC, Adrian joined the cast of presenters on what was the first 24 hour gospel radio station in the history of Trinidad and Tobago. At this juncture, Adrian made the switch from night time radio ministry to daytime radio with "Simply Worship" which airs every Sunday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

"Simply Worship" focuses on ministering the "Rhema" Word of God and Adrian has remained committed to never closing the programme without leading souls to Jesus Christ. Adrian often reminds listeners that the desire of God is for us as believers to become "True Worshippers" and to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness".

Apart from playing a blend of beautiful worship music to minister to God and inspirational and encouraging worship music to minister to his listeners, Adrian also takes time each week on Simply Worship to educate, edify, encourage and equip listeners to practically apply the word of God to their daily lives and to "do the work of the ministry" and thereby expand the kingdom of God in the earth. Some of his topics include Law, Justice, Restorative Justice, Prison Ministry, Marriage and Assisting Persons Affected by Crime and Misfortune.

Apart from his Sunday afternoon ministry on 98.1 FM, Adrian maintains a private law practice and is actively involved in the work of social transformation in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean through the promotion of restorative justice and restorative behaviour.
